Caulk Talk

Exibit A, our bathroom:

Try to divert your eyes from the ridiculous amount of sea foam green and turquoise that inhabits 75% of the room. When the house was purchased, the walls & CEILING were a delicious shade of turquoise too! The previous owner told us he was going for the "monocromatic look" and was very proud of his admission. I wish I was making this up.

At any rate, while our (one and only) bathroom could use a serious overhaul, that's probably not going to happen in the few years we likely have left in this home. We've already made slight improvements--painting the walls, adding a new light fixture, mirror & faucet--and hope to top it off with a floor replacement at some point. Believe it or not, I think I can actually live with the abundance of sea foam for the next few years! Afterall, there are bigger things to concern ourselves with in this home. Just don't ask Tom (a.k.a. the husband) what he thinks about all this tile. He's likely to give you a totally different answer.

So this afternoon I received a call from the husband, who informed me that today he re-caulked the shower. He concluded the call by saying, "but it doesn't look that great". Um, what does he mean "doesn't look that great"? Immediate panic set in. You see, I'm a perfectionist & a control freak and unless I'm monitoring or dictating the situation, "doesn't look that great" isn't something I really want to hear (especially while driving, thank you very much). When I returned home, I surveyed the results. While not perfect...eh, it'll do for now. Especially if we're the only two who have to look at it.

Amen for shower curtains, right?
